Spiritual Horn

A unique and evocative performance Spiritual Horn where Stu Herring is seen playing an industrially-built Tibetan-style horn. This was the second Spiritual Horn Herring built, where he created frequency and sound to produce an abundant saturation of energy dictated and enhanced by the beautiful interior of the Cathedral it was performed in. He played continuously over four hours to create a sublime blend of meditative acoustics within the sacred space of the quire in the heart of Newcastle Cathedral. The sound of the horn was made comparable to whale song, as if the building was breathing, while others compared it to that of atmospheric noise phenomena. Visitors enjoyed the peaceful, spiritual and meditative atmosphere, but also attributed to the ominous feeling produced by the sound, scale and awe.
